Highway 89 North
Left Flagstaff at 9am and pulled into the Grand Canyon about 1:30pm to snow on the North Rim.
After crossing the Colorado River at Marble Canyon I could see the snow dusted Colorado Plateau.
There were only patches of snow at Jacob Lake and Highway 67 through Kaibab National Forest was a clear and bare two lanes for 30 miles (48.28 km).
From the entrance station the next 10 miles was limited to 1.25 lanes clear of snow.
My permanent RV site is a muddy lake so I’m parked in the mud and snow elsewhere temporarily and have FabGrandma and Grandpa as neighbors. I can barely believe I backed into this site with a little help from friends. And that I found a WIFI signal.
I'm not surprised that you have snow. We're due to have another storm tonight. Glad you made it safely.
I am pleased to know you have arrived safely my friend. It seems icy cold there and I do not envy you being in all that mud and ice. Take care and be safe!!
Glad you arrived safely. I am also glad (snicker) that YOU have the snow, and not me. No more white stuff for me this year, please! 🙂
Its good to know that you arrived back there safely. Hard to believe that summer is on your doorstep and there is still so much snow around. Over here its getting chilly in the evenings and winter is breaking down the door.
Gaelyn: Communication is going, the mud will dry and all will be well. Neat view of the snow covered road.
Gaelyn, I love your version of "patchy snow" when the snow in that third photo was as far as the eye could see and at least a foot deep on the side of the road!!!!!!Beautiful photos and glad you made it back safely to your summer home…time does fly when you are having fun!

Yay!!! your back where I wanted you to be. Hope you had a marvellous time on your African journey.
You can title this post Adventures in the snow! Wow, there is way more snow in your mountains than is in ours. Great shots and it must be nice to be back in the Canyon.
You've got WIFI, that's the important part. We head for Yosemite Sunday and our chosen campsite often has a creek flowing thourgh it in the spring so we may find a muddy campsite in our future. The seasonal stream also makes it one of the most isolated campsites which is why I try to get it.
Nice "patchy snow" scene! In true Geogypsy fashon, camera and steering wheel…nice shots!
Cold mud..I hate it…I am glad you made it safely….Michelle
Have a wonderful summer on the North Rim! I wish we were joining you! I applied to quite a few parks, including the North Rim, was rated "qualified" for all of them, but I haven't heard back from any of them. I guess a lot of home repair lies ahead this summer…Best wishes!
